New Independent Bookshop Opens In Bakewell

An independent bookshop has opened in Bakewell, bringing a mix of new and pre-loved books to the town.

The Next Chapter opened on Saturday (2 May) in Granby Arcade, offering an interesting selection of titles alongside book-themed gifts and its own take on “Blind Date With A Book”.

The shop has already had a warm response from visitors.

One early customer described it as “an amazing selection of books and a friendly welcome”, adding that they would “definitely be back”.

Independent bookshops have seen a steady resurgence in recent years, with more readers choosing to shop locally and support smaller retailers.

The Next Chapter adds something new to Bakewell’s mix of independents and gives both locals and visitors another reason to spend time in the town, which can only be a positive thing.
